In Job Search, Giving Thanks Is Central!

In Job Search, Thanks-Giving Is Central!“When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.”- Anthony Robbins

“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

“They do not love, that do not show their love.” – William Shakespeare

In job search, and in our careers, we have many reasons to thank others.

Someone may give us advice, a listening ear, an informational interview, a valuable introduction or other opportunity. It has often been said that you should send a “thank you” note to every person you speak with about your job search. Every contact serves as another “touch point” that helps people remember you.

A “thank you” via email may be adequate, but it’s easily forgotten. A handwritten note is more personal, and a beautiful card has the additional benefit that it tends to stick around on the recipient’s desk or bookcase for a while.

I recommend that every job seeker invest in a supply of note cards, either blank or with a “thank you” message printed. I like to buy cards from UNICEF,  since the purchase benefits needy children worldwide.

Thank you, for reading my blog, and for any work we have done together, or may do in future. I am grateful to have an occupation where I can get to know your challenges, support and empower you, and share in the excitement of the wins.

May you always have much to be grateful for!
